I spend a fair amount of time in the kitchen. We all do. It's the place where the family congregates, we eat, we cook, we draw and read and write, we dance and listen to music. It's all going on in the kitchen....
When we bought the house, the kitchen was pretty horrendous. Yellow walls and random tiles, sticky pine units with a particularly unattractive green facade, nasty lino floor, weird layout. It hadn't been changed in 15 years and ticked all the wrong boxes. There was nowhere to go but up.
So we knocked through from the dining room...
And ended up with this...
We lived with a concrete floor and a makeshift kitchen for longer than I care to remember after we ripped out the units (which got painted and recycled in the dark room), rewired and painted. I got the Smeg cooker I'd dreamed of. We got a new floor and eventually new units. Then we had this...
It's still not finished. The tiles are done and the ebay cooker hood bargain is up. Just a shelf to add and we're all done. Even in its slightly unfinished state, I do love my kitchen.
