going home...
I still think of Hong Kong as home, although we have - and are making - a new home here, among family and (new) friends. Thirty years in Hong Kong have surely left an indelible mark on me. It's the place I know best - like the back of my hand, in fact. I have so many dear and lovely friends there, and the places, smells, sights and sounds are so very familiar to me.
I am very fortunate that work takes me back on a fairly regular basis, both with my writing and for kidlet. I'm heading 'home' tomorrow for two weeks. Although I am apprehensive about leaving the girls, they will be in the very capable and loving hands of their daddy, with grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins to keep them happy in my absence.
I'm going to start packing....
